volumes 27-34 cm
Before 1797/98 issued without a general t.p. From 1662-1796/97 each act has a separate t.p. beginning "Anno regni" and followed by the name of the king, the year of his reign, the session of the Parliament and the imprint (the subject matter being contained in the caption). Each session is paged continuously
Publisher varies
The early issues are known under various arbitrary titles, i.e. Folio edition, Black letter edition, Sessional laws, and others
The first issue was for 1483 (the first year of the reign of Richard III), and was printed in 1484 by William Caxton or Machlinia, this being the first instance of a sessional publication. From then until 1869, it was published for each session of Parliament with the exception of the period of the Commonwelath, 1640-1660.--cf. Great Britain. Statutes. The statutes of the realm. London, 1810-28. v. 1, p. lvi-lviii
1704-1796/97 are accompanied by separately paged abstracts
The Folio edition ceased publication in 1869, but the material was continued from 1870 in "Public general statutes" and its continuations
